Providence Senate Juniors Da Bomb

Meet some of the members! (Wait for pics to load...worth the wait) Great opportunity for your child(ren)!

We just completed our 10th season here at Providence Senate, and experienced yet another successful year.  Despite being the smallest youth program in RI, we have had the most success and biggest impact out any program in our area within that time span.

Our youth bowlers continue to improve their bowling skills year after year. However this past season we showed signs that our athletes may have become somewhat complacent, and over the summer we will go hard. Our junior bowlers competed in tournaments throughout New England, New York, New Jersey, Maryland and Indiana this past season with much success.

Our athletes are given the opportunity to learn the sport of bowling through our Certified Coaches and volunteers, as well as come together to have a good time making new friends in our family style atmosphere. They, too, will be given the opportunity to compete both locally and nationally in tournaments for awards, trophies, merchandise and of course scholarships. Our league will also present them with the opportunity to achieve individual GOALS and be recognized for their accomplishments through their hard work.

Our program and its members receive coverage in the USBC Youth Magazine, TNBA Bowler Magazine, Providence Journal, and the Bowlers Ledger. Our league standing sheets are updated weekly and available to view online by clicking on our official league standing sheet link to the left of this page. We are the only program in RI that is sanctioned by both the National Bowling Association, Inc. (TNBA) and the United States Bowling Congress (USBC). The opportunity also exists for them to be considered as one of the four junior bowlers chosen annually from RI to attend the Dick Ritger's Bowling Camp in New York, through the dedication of Mrs. Carol Giguere and the Ron Giguere Memorial Scholarship Fund. Some of our athletes have attended bowling camps or trained in such places as Buffalo, NY; Nebraska and Florida.  And finally, Rhode Island United States Bowling Congress Youth Association (RIUSBCYA) has a website that displays events and directions for all the junior programs in our state.

Succeeding with hard work, our 2008-09 Highlights!

  • For the third straight season, the Providence Senate captured the Ocean State Travel League High Average awards for both male (Rai) and female (Nicole).
  • Providence Senate has now won SIX straight State Pepsi Tournament Championships in the Girls Scratch Division (Allyson Smith 2004, Deanna Outland 2005, Nicole Trudell 2006 and 2007, and Deanna again in 2008 & 2009).
  • Rai Doblmeier became the first Senate athlete to three-peat in the State Pepsi Championship in the Scratch Division in "Back-to-Back-to-Back" years (2007, 2008 & 2009).

Keep Your Eye On The Target

Keeping your eye on your target from start to finish will eliminate many inconsistencies in the approach. You would be surprised how difficult it is to do three times in a row, let alone a league night or tournament. Remember, start to finish without losing sight of it.
